How Can You Make Your Dining Area Even Better?

Focus On Getting A High Quality Tablecloth

Woven In-House So No Shortcuts Are Taken

Too many brands have sacrificed quality for home items (bed sheets, towels, and even tablecloths). You spend so much time in your home, it makes sense to only dress your home in high quality, long-lasting products. We've been producing in Ireland for 170+ years and will continue to only increase the quality.

A Tablecloth Our Community Loves

Durable and Stain-Resistant

The two things can ruin a good tablecloth: rips, and stains. The rips usually happen at the end of the tablecloth, stains can happen anywhere. With linen, the fibres are so strong that not only can they resist rips, but they don't allow spills to become stubborn stains.

The Napkin Is The Most Overlooked Part Of The Dining Experience

Here's What Makes A Good Napkin

Soft, High Quality Cloth Napkins

Cloth napkins are much better than paper napkins. Cloth napkins are much more effective at absorbing, catching crumbs, and making the dinner table much more stylish. Our napkins are made without chemicals and are built to only get softer with each wash.

A Cloth Napkin That Complements Your Table

No Pilling, And Good For The Skin

Some fabrics can cause skin conditions like acne. Since you wipe your face constantly, it's important to have a cloth that doesn't pill, and hypoallergenic. Linen is a natural fabric that is friendly to even the most sensitive skin. It's great for everybody

A Good Placemat Can Change Your Entire Dining Area

Keep These Two Things In Mind
Chrysanthemum Damask Placemats - Ferguson's Irish Linen

Quick To Dry

If a spill happens, the table linen dries fast but so do linen placemats. This stops the dining table from having a soggy areas on it which can ruin the mood for some very quickly. Linen is built to quickly dry due to it's strong tight fibres.

A Placemat That You'll Love

Heat-Resistant

A big reason the placemat was created was to absorb the heat of warm/hot plates. It prevented the table and tablecloth from getting damaged. Linen placemats are woven in a way that allows air to flow effortlessly, creating a cooling environment for the plate.

Is Linen Good For A Tablecloth?

Which Cloth is Best, Linen or Cotton?

Yes. Linen is one of the best choices for tablecloths because it’s durable, naturally stain-resistant (thanks to its tight weave), and actually gets softer and stronger with every wash. Linen also drapes beautifully, giving a dining table a more elegant, timeless look than synthetic fabrics. If you want longevity and elegance, choose linen. Linen is more durable, breathable, stain-resistant, and luxurious. It lasts decades if cared for properly and is considered the premium choice for formal dining.

Is Linen Good For Napkins?

Are Linen Napkins Worth it?

Yes. Linen napkins are absorbent, hypoallergenic, and naturally antibacterial. Unlike paper napkins or synthetics, they feel soft on the skin and add a sense of refinement to dining. They also wash and reuse well, making them both eco-friendly and stylish. Linen napkins are worth it, if you value long-term quality. Linen napkins can last for years (even decades), and they elevate meals by making even simple dinners feel special. The durability and reusability mean you spend less over time compared to constantly buying paper or cheaper fabric napkins.

What is The Best Material For Dinner Placemats?

Do Linen Placemats Protect From Heat?

Linen is one of the best because it’s heat-resistant, easy to clean, and naturally elegant. Other good options include cork (for strong heat resistance) or woven vinyl (for easy wipe-down cleaning). But linen offers the best balance of luxury + functionality. Yes, linen placemats can protect tables from the heat of plates. Linen’s dense fibres make it more heat-resistant than cotton or synthetics, so it can protect your table from warm plates and dishes.

How To Take Care of Your Table Linens

All you need to know to keep your linens as good as new

If you want to give your bed linens, throws and blankets the best care, make sure you machine wash in cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent, avoiding bleach. We recommend you to air dry or tumble dry on low heat and to remove while it is slightly damp to keep wrinkles to the minimum. In terms of ironing, use a medium-hot iron. Store in dry place away from direct sunlight. Air drying is best or tumble dry on low heat if needed, removing while slightly damp to reduce wrinkles. Iron while damp with a medium-hot iron. How Do We Make Our Table Linens

Almost two centuries of tradition, craftsmanship and Irish heritage

FAQs

Get to know our luxurious products
Are your table linens made in Ireland?

Yes. Our part of Ireland creates the perfect environment naturally for weaving. So we have been able to do it for centuries learning techniques and skills that get passed down through generations. Today thanks to humidity controlled rooms, weaving can be done almost anywhere. However, it is the natural climate and legacy of expertise behind Irish Linen that makes it so special.

Can I use bleach on table linens?

We don't recommend using bleach as it can damage the fibers and cause discoloration.

How should I store my table linens

If you want to keep your table linens fresh, store them in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight. Also, to prevent mildew, make sure they are completely dry once you store them.

Do your tablecloths come in different sizes?

Yes, we offer different sizes depending on how big your table is. All our options are available on the product page for the tablecloth.

How do I remove stains from table linens?

Use mild detergent and do it as soon as possible. If the stain persists, use a gentle stain remover suitable for linen. Don't use bleach or any other hard chemicals.
