The Ferguson Promise
For over 170 years, we have woven authentic Irish linen with craftsmanship and integrity. From Thomas Ferguson’s first handloom to today, our methods remain unchanged, ensuring timeless quality, sustainability, and elegance.
If you’re not completely satisfied, we offer a no-quibble returns policy, because true craftsmanship should be trusted.
Irish linen tea towels are well known for being some of the best you can get. We've taken our traditional stripe design, that has been in production for over a century, and further infused it with more Irishness (which we've decided is a word).
Each tea towel in this collection features something extra in the central band. These make the perfect gift for someone with a taste for the tradition, with an extra hint of home.
The rougher the sea the smoother we sail. Ahoy!

Linen is a remarkably durable fabric that only gets softer and more absorbent with time. Caring for it is simple, and by following a few key steps, you can keep your linen looking and feeling its best.
When washing, use a gentle cycle with cold or lukewarm water (up to 40°C) and a mild liquid detergent. Avoid bleach or brighteners, as these can weaken the fibres. For best results, wash linen separately to prevent friction with rougher fabrics.
Drying naturally is always preferable—line drying helps maintain the linen’s texture and softness. If you need to use a tumble dryer, select a low heat setting and remove the fabric while still slightly damp to minimise wrinkles. To prevent colour fading, keep linen out of direct sunlight for extended periods.
Ironing is entirely optional. If you prefer a crisp finish, press linen while it’s still damp using a medium-hot iron on the reverse side to protect the colours. Storing linen properly is just as important—keep it in a cool, dry place and avoid plastic bags or boxes. To prevent deep creasing, don’t compress it under heavy items.
With each wash, linen becomes softer and more luxurious. By treating it gently and allowing it to dry naturally, you can enjoy its beauty and durability for years to come.
Heritage Meets Elegance: The Beauty of True Irish Linen
Made from natural flax fibres, linen is breathable, durable, and luxuriously soft. It regulates temperature, keeping you cool in summer and cosy in winter, while its moisture-wicking and antibacterial properties make it a perfect choice for sensitive skin. Over time, linen becomes even softer, ensuring long-lasting comfort and elegance in your home.

Woven with Tradition: The Art of Irish Linen Craftsmanship
Linen is one of the most sustainable fabrics in the world, made from flax, a resilient plant that requires minimal water, pesticides, and energy to grow. Every part of the flax plant is used, leaving zero waste behind. Naturally biodegradable and incredibly durable, linen lasts for generations, reducing the need for frequent replacements and lowering environmental impact. At Ferguson’s, we honour this tradition by weaving linen the same way it has been done for over 165 years, ensuring a fabric that is as kind to the planet as it is luxurious to the touch.
